Group Songwriting- Children and Skip work
together to create new songs and develop them in a group
setting. Skip will provide the class with a recording and
sheet music of their song(s) at the conclusion of the
residency. Instrument Making- Skip will provide a list of simple materials for students to have in school ahead of time. During the residency children will make instruments which actually work as instruments of the woodwind, brass, string, and percussion families. Song topics include- Singing! Action! Getting along with each other! Instruments from around the world! Self esteem! The environment! Other cultures! Friendship! Families of all sizes! Learning more about ourselves and the world we live in! Many other topics important to children today! Skip
